Laurel leaves

The laurel leaves had a prominent place during ancient times, as they were used to make laurel crowns which were offered as a reward to the Olympians. Among their other uses, laurel leaves are used in cooking for preparing sauces, meat and fish. However, it should be noted that they are not eaten and are removed from the food after cooking. Laurel leaves are also known for their antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and soothing properties.
